The MSc in Product Design at the University of Dundee is a transformative course designed to equip students with the skills and expertise needed to be creative and innovative designers. This course sets out to challenge you to consider your future role in the design industry and the wider global community. It combines the study of design thinking, prototyping and production with the business or marketing strategy necessary to take a product to market.Course Content: The course consists of two semesters of taught modules, an individual project, and a major project. It is divided into three stages, each consisting of one compulsory module and one or two optional modules. Semester one is about Design Skills and Design Thinking. Semester two is a chance for students to extend their understanding of the design process with two modules from a choice of five. The third semester consists of an individual, self-directed project, with guidance from staff.Key Modules: Some key modules include Design Thinking, Design Skills, Marketing and Branding, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Materials and Manufacture, and Industrial Design Practice.
