The MSc in Anatomy & Advanced Forensic Anthropology at the University of Dundee is an intensive one-year full-time course that provides high-quality training in human anatomy combined with a advanced teaching in forensic anthropology. It presents a unique opportunity for students to develop a deep understanding of all aspects of human anatomy, with an intensive hands-on dissection module, whilst gaining a core knowledge of the theory and practice of forensic anthropology. Course Content: The course includes a unique dissection module, allowing students to undertake a full body dissection using Thiel-embalmed cadavers, with a wide variety of pathology and injury cases accessed through strong links with forensic science providers globally. The course offers a comprehensive and wide-ranging study involving advanced dissection, applied imaging techniques, forensic anthropology theory and practice, human anatomy education, fieldwork and post-mortem radiology.Key Modules: Some of the core modules are Anatomy knowledge and skills (36 credits), Anatomy (body systems) (30 credits), Expert witness skills (7 credits), Facial identification techniques (8 credits), Human identification in forensic anthropology case work (38 credits).Accreditations: This course does not have any specific accreditations.Future Careers: Graduates often follow careers in anatomy teaching, forensic science, medico-legal consultancy, and post-mortem services among others.
