BSc (Hons.) Product Design

The Product Design undergraduate program offered by the University of Dundee is a holistic and creative course that equips students to design products with a human-centred approach. The course combines the study of form and aesthetics with an understanding of everyday life, people, and their physical and cultural surroundings. Course Content: Students of this course learn a range of methods such as drawing, modeling, and computer-aided design (CAD), coupled with design thinking skills. Interesting facets such as other disciplines, including Interaction Design, Graphic Design, and Interior and Environmental design, are merged into the course. Key Modules: The course includes core modules like Product Design studio practice, History and Theory of Art and Design, skills for designers, Extended Drawing, and Digital Product Design. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) and meets the standards required for Chartered Designer status. Future Careers: The course prepares students for careers as Product Designers in diverse fields like Sports Equipment, Furniture Design, Living Aids, Toy Design, and Consumer Electronic Goods.
