The BSc in Mathematics and Physics is an undergraduate course offered by the University of Dundee. It is a four-year course that offers students a solid grounding in a broad range of phonetics, teaching them the methods and concepts required to tackle the most fascinating questions and challenges in Physics and Mathematics. Course Content: The course covers key areas in both Mathematics and Physics, such as quantum theory, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electromagnetic theory, mathematical methods for physicists and astronomers, and practical classes to enhance experimental physics skills. From third year, students will focus on taking advanced modules in both subject areas, with maths split into Pure and Applied Mathematics. In the final year, students are required to undertake a project that acts as the capstone of their degree.Key Modules: Key modules in the course include Multivariate Calculus and Coordinate Geometry, Mathematical Methods for Scientists 1, Introduction to Modern Physics, Waves and Optics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, General Relativity and Cosmology, Quantum Mechanics, Electrostatics and Magnetostatics, and Mathematical Modelling.Accreditations: The BSc Mathematics and Physics degree is accredited by the Institute of Physics (IOP) which ensures the quality, standards, and relevance of the course content.Future Careers: Graduates from this program can pursue diverse career options. These include roles in educational institutions, scientific research establishments, government institutions, telecommunications and aviation companies, the nuclear industry, meteorological departments, and the finance sector among others.
