BDes (Hons) Textile Design

The Textile Design course offered by the University of Dundee is a programme where students can hone their skills in creating innovative designs for fashion and interiors. Underpinned by sustainable practice, the course allows students to develop personal responses to the social and environmental issues influencing contemporary textile design.Course Content: The program consists of diverse modules that range from the traditional design techniques to the latest digital technologies. Students are engaged in studio practice, CAD workshops, retail projects, an industry placement, live design competitions and visits to trade fairs.Key Modules: The course includes a series of modules such as Textiles Studio Practice, Textiles CAD, Retail Projects, Trade fair visits, Design Competitions, and an Industry placement.Future Careers: After successful completion of the course, students can pursue careers in sectors such as textile and fashion designing, retail buying, trend forecasting, styling, teaching, or postgraduate study.
