BDes (Hons) Animation

The University of Dundee's Animation degree course enables learners to produce animation for film, television, games and many other interactive digital areas. It's a practical course, focused on developing understanding of the whole animation process including concept development, production and post-production stages, with a strong focus on creativity and individual expression.Course Content: The program covers a range of modules designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of animation. The course is structured into sequential stages that cover the essential aspects of animation such as narrative structure, visual storytelling, character development, technique, technology and software.Key Modules: Students engage in modules such as Animation Production, Traditional Animation, 3D Computer Animation, Sound Design for Animation, and Animation for Games. They will also do a final major project where they'll produce a significant piece of work, showcasing their developed skills.Accreditations: This course is accredited by ScreenSkills, the industry-led skills body for the UK's screen-based industries.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can pursue a variety of roles including 2D Animator, 3D Animator, Character Designer, Concept Artist, Director, Producer, Storyboard Artist and Effects Animator.
