The BSc (Hons) Biochemistry degree at the University of Lincoln aims to explore life at the molecular level, with specific emphasis on the biochemical processes that occur within cells. It offers students a chance to understand phenomena at a microscopic level and interpret significant biological and experimental data.Course Content: The programme begins with foundational knowledge in biological chemistry and cell biology. Upon gaining familiarity with the basics, subjects become more specialized. Students engage in various themes, including molecular biology, protein science, enzymes and metabolism, molecular genetics, cell signaling, and advanced topics in contemporary biochemistry. Alongside, students also learn key laboratory techniques and boost their analytical abilities.Key Modules: Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Human Physiology and Anatomy, Molecular and Structural Biochemistry, Chemical Safety, and Dangerous Substances, Biochemical Analysis and Techniques, Biochemistry of Disease, Genomics and its Applications, Cell Communication.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) for the purpose of meeting in part the academic and experience requirement for Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).Future Careers: Upon graduation, students may pursue careers across a wide array of industries like healthcare, research, and education environments. They can work as biochemists, chemical analysts, biomedical scientists, or pursue further studies or research. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
