The Gender Studies (Women, Society and Culture) MA course offered by the University of Lincoln gives students an opportunity to explore different gender and feminist theories. This course looks at how gender and sexuality, along with other social categories, play a role in lives, individuals, and societies. Course Content: Enabling students to think critically about topical issues around gender, the course covers areas such as feminist theory, sexuality, body image, disability, class, 'race', and gender violence. The course also provides an opportunity to conduct independent research in an area of interest within gender studies.Key Modules: Main modules include Feminist Theory; Women, Society, and Culture; Research Methods and Skills; and Gender Studies dissertation. Students can also choose from an array of elective modules, including Sex, Gender, and Violence; Intersectional Identities; and a Queer Theory module.Future Careers: This course can serve as a foundation for a range of careers. Graduating students may find employment across the public, private, or charitable sectors. Jobs may concern social policy, human rights, and welfare services, or in education as teachers and lecturers.
