The Nursing Dual Award (Adult and Mental Health) MSci course offered by the University of Derby is an integrated Master’s degree program designed to develop nurses who are capable of addressing healthcare needs across various domains. The unique dual-qualification approach equips students with the skills to deal with complex medical and mental health challenges in a wide range of settings.Course Content: This course offers a blend of theoretical teaching and practical clinical placements. The curriculum is co-produced with partners in health and social care and service users, to ensure its relevance and responsiveness to current and future health care trends. In the final year, students have the opportunity to lead an Innovation in Practice project and demonstrate leadership by identifying an issue within practice and designing an innovation to address it.Key Modules: The course modules cover areas ranging from Fundamental Skills and Knowledge, Fundamentals of Disease, Treatment and Care, Collaborative Working for Health and Wellbeing, Contemporary Issues in Mental Health Nursing and Collaborative Working for the Care of Adults to Research and Leadership.Accreditations: Successful completion of the course leads to eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in two fields of nursing – Adult and Mental Health.Future Careers: This dual award qualifies individuals for career opportunities in a variety of health and social care settings.
