MSCi Nursing (Child) and Leadership

The Child Nursing and Leadership MSci course offered by the University of Derby is a unique multidisciplinary integrated master's course designed to develop clinical leadership and management competences in children's nursing beginning from the baccalaureate level. This course integrates theory and practice, with an emphasis on building on students' foundation level learning while providing advancement opportunities.Course Content: This course incorporates advanced professional practice, transforming care delivery, leading and innovating in practice, management in health and social care, and a final project in the child field. Throughout your degree, you’ll draw upon the knowledge and skills across all four themes to develop your practice and become a safe, competent and autonomous child nurse with leadership and management capabilities. Key Modules: Students will study modules focused on applied human sciences, professional values, leadership, and innovation, and applied health sciences for nursing, among others.Accreditations: The course is recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), enabling you to apply for registered nurse status upon successful completion.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can enter a variety of healthcare professions including being positioned to have a vital role in directly caring for children and young people, within a host of settings, ranging from hospitals to children’s homes.
