BSc Hons Forensic Psychology

The Forensic Psychology BSc (Hons) is an online course offered by the University of Derby. This flexible and contemporary course offers a unique perspective into criminal behaviour, its causes, and its prevention. Students are introduced to the world of forensic psychology in a multidisciplinary manner.Course Content: The course covers numerous subtopics of psychology that relate to law enforcement and the criminal justice system. This includes subjects such as: the psychology of criminal conduct, working with offenders and victims, risk management and rehabilitation, cognitive and social psychology as well as research methods and data analysis. Key Modules: The programme is structured into various essential modules such as: Introduction to Forensic Psychology, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Research Methods and Data Analysis 1 and 2, Crime and Society, Understanding Offending Behaviour, Policing and Psychology, Applied Forensic Psychology, Treatment of Offenders and Victims, and the Final Year Project in Forensic Psychology.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society, offering graduates the opportunity to gain Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, as long as a minimum of a second class honours is achieved and the empirical project was passed.Future Careers: The programme prepares students directly for work in areas of psychological testing, interviewing and counselling.
