Beng Hons Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) course at the University of Derby gives students the skills and knowledge to influence how modern societies are engineered and managed. This course is characterized by its focus on not just the theory of civil engineering, but the practice as well. Course Content: This broad-based civil engineering course introduces students to key areas of the discipline such as structural design, geotechnical engineering, and hydraulics. This knowledge is complemented by studies into management in the built environment, preparing you for leadership roles in the field. The course also includes modules on essential numerical techniques and introduces you to advanced computer-aided design techniques.Key Modules: The course consists of a variety of modules including Structural Mechanics and Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics, Geotechnical Engineering and Infrastructure, Engineering Surveying, and Introduction to Numerical Techniques among others.Accreditations: The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering course is provisionally accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) on behalf of the Engineering Council.
