BA Hons Football Journalism

The BA (Hons) Football Journalism course offered by the University of Derby is a specialized program tailored for those with a passion for both journalism and football. Students get to learn directly from award-winning journalists, national newspaper columnists, and BBC reporters and will engage in African and East European football studies, learn Spanish or German to converse with overseas teams, and understand the business side of football.Key Modules: The course comprises of several modules such as Writing and Reporting, Fundamental Football 1, Fundamental Journalism 1, Multimedia Journalism, Investigative Journalism, Journalism Law, Advanced Football and Journalism. Students also select optional modules such as African and East European Football, Spanish for Journalists, German for Journalists, and Business of Football to add depth to their understanding.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) and also offers students the opportunity to gain additional qualifications from the Football Association (FA), and National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).Future Careers: Upon graduation, students will have the skills and knowledge to work in roles such as Football Journalist, Football Analyst, Sports Reporter, Sports Broadcaster, and more.
