MA Diplomacy and International Relations

The MA in Diplomacy and International Relations at St Mary's University provides an intensive, practical programme of study that equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to understand and engage with the challenges of international diplomacy and global security in the 21st century.Course Content: The course gives students the opportunity to critically engage with a broad range of issues such as diplomacy theory, diplomatic practice, international law and international security. It also covers contemporary challenges including the role of non-state actors, human security, and conflict resolution.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course are Diplomacy: Policy, Practice and Procedures; International Law; International Security, Conflict and Conflict Resolution, and Challenges in International Politics in the 21st century. There's also a Dissertation which involves an extended piece of independent research.Future Careers: This MA will prepare students for careers in international diplomacy and a range of related fields such as international business, NGOs and global security.
