BA (Hons) History with Politics

The History with Politics course offered by Nottingham Trent University is a unique cross-disciplinary program. It explores the historical narrative alongside the theoretical and practical approaches to contemporary politics. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the world around them by studying the past to better understand the present, and foresee future eventualities.Course Content: This course integrates history with politics in an engaging way. It offers opportunities to study abroad, explore different cultures and societies from the past, analyse international relations, delve into global crises, and assess the UK's political landscape.Key Modules: Some of the important modules covered in this course include 'Power and State in Britain, 1970-1990', 'The British Empire: From Height to Decolonization', 'The Civil Rights Movement', 'Global Cold War', 'European Political Thought', and 'Terrorism & Counter-Terrorism'. Additionally, students have the option to undertake a work placement in their final year to gain real-world experience.Future Careers: The skills developed on this course open doors to various career paths, including but not limited to journalism, diplomacy, teaching, marketing, public relations, and political analysis.
