BA (Hons) Fashion Design

The BA (Hons) Fashion Design is a full-time undergraduate degree offered by the Nottingham Trent University. This course enables students to develop the creative edge and technical skills needed to enter the fashion industry. The course is assessed through one-to-one tutorial, team presentations, and portfolio presentations.Course Content: This course begins with designing and visualizing through drawing and experimenting. Then it continues into pattern cutting and constructing garments using industry-standard facilities. It integrates business and employability perspectives along with essential historical and contextual background. The course also offers the opportunity to undertake work placements to broaden industry knowledge and build a professional network.Key Modules: This course is structured into three levels. In Level One, students are introduced to the fundamentals of fashion design, exploring visual research, design development and 3D development in a fashion context. Level Two enables students to engage in a deeper understanding of professional design practice. In Level Three, students build their personal signature style and portfolio to prepare for a professional design career.Accreditations: The course is reciprocally accredited by Fashion Textiles and Clothing Skillnet, ensuring that the curriculum remains industry-relevant.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can pursue roles such as fashion designer, product developer, pattern cutter, visual merchandiser, fashion forecaster, and buyer, amongst others.
