BA (Hons) Design for Film and Television

The Design for Film and Television course at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a unique program that allows students to enhance their creative talent in designing fictional, historical and fantasy settings. This course brings out the vision and ideas of students that can be transformed into real environments for film, tv and animation.Course Content: This bachelor's degree course is a three-year full-time study program. The focus of this course is on conceptualization and detailed design practice for the production of sets, props and characters. Students will learn to develop designs from their own unique perspective and formulate design solutions that integrate with the storyline of films and TV programs. They also get to work on live projects in collaboration with professional designers and the film industry which further enhances their practical knowledge. In the final year, the focus is majorly on the individual project which allows students to showcase their learned skills.Key Modules: The core modules of this course include Concept Art and Visualisation, Technical Studies, Lifecycle of a Production: Briefs to Build, Personalising a Historical Reality, and Design for Film.Accreditations: The course at Nottingham Trent University is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD).
