BA (Hons) / BSc Product Design

The BSc (Hons) Product Design course offered at Nottingham Trent University is designed for students who are passionate about designing innovative products that can bring a positive impact on our lives. The course provides an in-depth knowledge of theoretical principles and practical applications of product design, supported with real-world projects, studio work, and collaborations with industry partners.Course Content: Students will study materials and manufacturing, design and marketing strategies, history and theory of design, concept development, and 3D design practices. Professional experience includes work placements, live projects, and collaborations with external partners.Key Modules: Alongside modules focusing on design thinking, students will study computer-aided design (CAD), digital design, experimentation and 3D realization, and innovation and new product development. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) and offers a pathway to become a Chartered Technological Product Designer (CTPD). Future Careers: Graduates have pursued their careers in design consultancies, in-house design teams, marketing departments, and product engineering companies.
