The LLM Employment Law and Human Resource Management course at Roehampton is designed to explore the legal rights of workers and employers, along with issues surrounding human resource management. The one-year full-time course is aimed at students with a law degree (or equivalent) who wish to pursue careers in human resources or employment law.Course Content: The course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of employment law and HRM, combining both theoretical and practical aspects. Students will gain knowledge in areas such as employment status, unfair dismissal, discrimination, health and safety, collective rights, redundancy, and family rights.Key Modules: Core modules include Employment Law in Context, Law for Human Resource Management, Research Methods and Dissertation. Optional modules include Corporate Governance and Ethics, International Human Rights and Corporate Governance, Prison Law, Family Law and Human Rights, Refugee Law and Community Engagement.Accreditations: This course is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). On successful completion of the course, students may apply for graduate membership of the CIPD.Future Careers: On completion of the course, students will be well-prepared for careers in HRM, practice as employment solicitors or employment-related policy roles.
