Middlesex University offers a postgraduate course, the Exercise and Physical Activity for Special Populations and Healthy Ageing MSc. The course aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work with particular groups to improve their health outcomes. Course Content: The course combines academic and practical elements, allowing students to develop a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to working with different populations. The content places a strong emphasis on understanding physical and mental well-being, social inclusion, and the needs and abilities of the populations. These may include children, older adults, patients, and those with disabilities or mental health issues.Key Modules: There are core modules that students will take which are Public Health and Physical Activity; Exercise Prescription for Specialist Populations; Research Methods and Data Analysis; The Ageing Process and Gerontology; and Physical Activity and Mental Health. Future Careers: Graduates of this course will be ready to work in a variety of settings, including within the NHS or social care setting, in a fitness centre or rehabilitation unit, or in the charitable sector.
