MSc Cardiology

The Cardiology MSc/PGDip course offered by Middlesex University allows students to develop their career in cardiology. The curriculum encompasses a broad range of topics required of a contemporary cardio professional alongside the innovative areas of myocardial and pericardial diseases. The course is set to develop advance and critical knowledge in anatomy, pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis and management. Course Content: The course covers key topics such as Clinical Cardiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Techniques, Cardiovascular Research Methods, Clinical Case Portfolio, Management of Heart Failure, Management of Arrhythmias, Management of Ischaemic Heart Disease, and Management of Valvular Heart Disease. In addition to this, students are also expected to submit a major project in Cardiology.Key Modules: Some of the foundational modules include: Diagnostic and Interventional Techniques, Clinical Cardiology, Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine, Management of Long Term Cardiac Conditions, and Cardiovascular Research Methods. For the MSc, in addition to the above modules, students also undertake a module named Clinical Case Portfolio. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purposes of meeting, in part, the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol). Future Careers: This MSc qualification allows individuals to further their career in Cardiology.
