The Animation BA Honours course at Middlesex University is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in the animation industry. It provides high standard training on both classical and computer animation which involves life drawing, character design and storyboarding, animating in 2D (drawing, Flash, TVPaint),3D (Maya), stop motion (model making, puppet animation, set design), directing your own films, screenwriting, sound design and post-production.Course Content: Over the course of three years, the Animation BA Honours course offers a range of modules that create a comprehensive understanding of animation. Students begin by learning the basic principles of animation and gaining experience in life drawing, character design, and storyboarding. As the course progresses, students are provided with a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and digital animation techniques, including 2D and 3D animation, stop motion, and more. Students will also undertake a practical exploration of the key roles within the animation process, culminating in the creation of their own short film.Key Modules: The key modules which the students will study include Animation Techniques, Animation Production Methods, Animation History and Context, Advanced Animation Production Techniques, The Animator as Filmmaker, Animation Practice and Portfolio and Experimental Animation: Theory and Practice.Future Careers: Graduates from this course will have the skills and portfolio to end up in one of many sectors within the animation industry.
