The BMid (Hons) Midwifery with Foundation Year at the University of Wolverhampton offers comprehensive training to students who aspire to make valuable contributions to maternity care. This course provides foundational understanding of childbirth and the skills required to support women during their pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. Course Content: The course starts with a foundation year which prepares students for further study. The remaining three years follow the standard Midwifery undergraduate curriculum, focused on providing quality maternity care to the women and their families. The curriculum is based on evidence and research, and follows the woman and family centered approach. The course includes multiple placements, enhancing the practical skills and learning within a professional set up. Key Modules: Key modules include Understanding the Fundamentals of Midwifery Practice, Applied Anatomy & Physiology for Childbearing, Professional Values and Evidence-Based Practice amongst others. The course emphasizes on providing personalized maternity care and understanding the life long impact of childbearing on women's lives. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You will be eligible to register with NMC on completion of the course.
