BA (Hons) English Literatures

The BA (Hons) English Literatures course at the University of Wolverhampton invites students to explore a wide range of authors and genres from around the world. This course allows you to experience an exciting and challenging discipline, engaging with key historical and contemporary literary texts in English and from many other cultural and national contexts.Course Content: The course explores literary works ranging from the classical to the contemporary, including novels, plays and poetry. Students will examine a range of periods, genres, themes and authors, enabling a deep understanding of English literature. Here you will learn about English language, it's history, its structures and its use. Key Modules: This course includes modules such as Renaissance Literature, Gothic and Horror, Children’s Literature, Postcolonial Literatures and more. Students will also have the opportunity to study specialist subjects like crime fiction, literature and gender, literature and art, literature and film, among others.Future Careers: Graduates of BA (Hons) English Literatures have careers in teaching, journalism, public relations, professional writing, publishing, the media industry, public service professions including the law, business, marketing and the leisure industries.
