The Sociology and Criminology BSc (Hons) is a full-time undergraduate course offered by the University of Greenwich. Rooted in contemporary debate and challengers in society, this course combines the study of contemporary sociology and criminology allowing students to explore human societies and behaviours along with crime, punishment and criminal justice.Course Content: During the course, students will be introduced to contemporary sociological and criminological issues and theories. Students will study key concepts and theories of criminology and apply them to contemporary issues such as crime and media, environmental crime, and globalised crime. They will also explore social differences, inequalities and social change, profiling, policing and criminal justice casework.Key Modules: The course structure is divided into different modules, allowing students to focus on a variety of topics within the field of Sociology and Criminology. These modules include, but are not limited to, Faces of Britain: Understanding Identities, Understanding Social Change, and Making Sense of Society, among others.Accreditations: While the course provides its own merits, it is not specifically accredited by any external organization.Future Careers: Upon successful completion of the course, graduates can proceed into a variety of career pathways. Careers can range from public and voluntary sectors to managerial roles, public relations, teaching, and research.
