The BSc Hons Forensic Science with Criminology course at the University of Greenwich is designed to explore the multidisciplinary nature of forensic science and criminology. It provides students with the opportunity to understand aspects of crime, criminal behaviour, the science behind the crime, and the legal aspects of forensic science. Course Content: The course is divided into three levels. Level 4 introduces students to the study of forensic science and criminology, including modules on forensic biology and understanding crime. Level 5 enhances these skills with more specialist modules such as research methods in forensic science and criminology, scientific photography and imaging. The final year, or Level 6, enables students to examine the application of all the techniques, procedures, and methods used in forensic science, and includes the completion of an extended project. Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Chemistry, Understanding Crime, Forensic Practice and Crime Scene Science, The Forensic Examination of Documents, and Criminology Theory and Practice.Future Careers: Graduates of this course go on to work in areas such as police services, criminal justice agencies, the legal professions, forensic science laboratories, teaching, and research.
