BEng Hons. Engineering, Design and Innovation

The Engineering Design & Innovation BEng Hons course offered by the University of Greenwich is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to be innovative and successful engineers. The course combines engineering design and manufacturing with business and management, with a focus on sustainability and creativity.Course Content: The curriculum is built around core modules in engineering and design, along with specialisms in areas such as product design and sustainability. Students learn through a combination of lectures, practical sessions, labs and tutorials, with opportunities for workplace experience and study abroad. The course also includes an Optional Placement Year that allows students to gain industry experience.Key Modules: Key modules include Engineering Materials, Mathematics, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, CAD and Manufacturing Module, Design Innovation & Creativity, Business Development & Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Design, and a final year individual project.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, on behalf of the Engineering Council, for the purpose of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Future Careers: Graduates of this course can pursue roles such as design engineer, sustainability engineer, product designer, project manager, or start their own innovative business.
