BA Hons Interior Design

The Interior Design course at Northumbria University is a dynamic course that encourages creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking. This full-time or part-time course addresses interior, architectural and urban spaces to prepare students for various aspects of design practice and theory. Students will gain skills and knowledge needed to work in an exciting, globally-relevant and future-focused profession.Course Content: The program has a creative and intellectual approach to interior, architectural and urban spaces which considers human occupancy, engagement and experience. Students are encouraged to question preconceptions, challenge norms and test boundaries within real-world projects and competitions. They will explore design from a different perspective to discover their own individual design language.Key Modules: Course modules touch on various areas within interior design, from the exploration of architectural traditions and innovations to the study of interior spaces and services. These are integrated with studies in cultural, historical, and theoretical contexts. Students will also have a chance to explore materials and manufacturing processes.Accreditations: This course is accredited by both the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) and the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID).Future Careers: After finishing the course, students can progress into a range of careers such as interior designers, design strategists, and brand consultants.
