MSc Animal Behaviour

The Animal Behaviour MSc at the University of Chester is a full-time, one-year course aimed at individuals who seek to develop a scientific understanding of animal behaviour and its applications. Students are enabled to connect and integrate a broad array of research fields including animal cognition, behavioural ecology and movement ecology.Course Content: The course covers a variety of animal behaviour topics including animal cognition, behavioural ecology, and movement ecology. It involves traditional lectures and practicals along with a significant element of individual research, providing students with the opportunity to delve deeper into their specific areas of interest.Key Modules: There are several key modules in the curriculum including Animal Cognition, Behavioural Ecology, Movement Ecology, Planning for Personal and Professional Development, Research Methods and Data Analysis, and the Student Negotiated Module. The course concludes with an extensive research project. Future Careers: After graduating from the MSc Animal Behaviour course at the University of Chester, students have the potential to work in a variety of fields including animal behaviour research, animal welfare, zoo settings, conservation, academia or in pet behavioural counselling.
