BSc (Hons.) Geography

The Geography (BSc Hons, Single Honours) course at the University of Chester is an exciting exploration of the world around us. It will expose you to the physical properties of the globe's terrestrial surface, study the earth's climates, and delve into the socio-economic aspects that govern the world we live in. The course is designed to be flexible, allowing you to choose from a wide range of geographical and other subject areas, which will help you discover more about our planet. Course Content: You will learn about the fundamentals of geography in your first year, followed by broadening your understanding in a diverse range of topics like urban geographies, climate change, natural hazards, fieldwork, globalisation, rural geographies, and contemporary geographical thinking in your second and third years. You will also have the opportunity to undertake an independent study at a location of your choice in your final year. Key Modules: Key subject modules include Geographical Investigations, Environment, Society and Sustainability, Introduction to Human Geography, Introduction to Physical Geography, Sustainable Futures, Water World, Global Perspectives, Dynamic Landscapes and Climate Change, Earth Surface Processes and Landforms.
