BA (Hons) History

The History BA (Hons) Single Honours is a three-year undergraduate degree offered by the University of Chester. This course aims to explore different historical periods, events, and personalities, as well as question and analyze historical evidence from a range of times and places. With the skills acquired in this course, students will be better equipped to understand the historical background to current events.Course Content: The course is structured across three levels. Year 1 offers core modules focused on skills and methods of history, with introductory topical modules. Year 2 encourages more specialized study through a range of optional modules. The final year enables students to deepen their understanding through their dissertation and choice of advanced study modules.Key Modules: Modules include: Skills for Historians, The Historian's Craft, Mediterranean Empires: East and West 800-800, Power and Identity in Norman England, History Dissertation, and more.
