It offers students the opportunity to engage with a variety of literary genres, including prose, poetry, drama, and critical theory. The course also aims to hone students' skills in critical reading, research, analysis and writing. The aim is to provide students with the flexibility to shape their own pathway through a diverse range of modules that cater to their interests and future career aims. Key Modules: Core modules in the first year of the course include 'Reading Literature' and 'Practising Criticism'. As students progress through the course, they can choose from a range of optional modules covering topics such as Gothic fiction, Romanticism, Victorian literature, modernism, postcolonial literature, and contemporary literature. The course also offers the opportunity to study American and World literatures, including works in translation.
