MA Social Work

The Social Work MA at the University of Hull is a two-year, full-time course designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary to practice professionally in the field of social work. The course provides practical, hands-on experience, with 170 days of assessed practice learning in a selection of social work settings.Course Content: The course combines practical experience with theoretical learning, with topics covered throughout the degree including the application and critical understanding of social work values and ethics, intervention strategies, legislation, policy and research, and person-centred approaches. Key Modules: Core modules include Social Work: Law, Policy and Context, Social Work Theory and Method, Integrated Practice Learning 1 and 2, and a Dissertation. Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to register as a fully qualified social worker with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).Future Careers: The course seeks to prepare you for a profession in social work, with potential career paths including child and adult services and mental health and community services.
