The Criminology with Forensic Science BA (Hons) course at the University of Hull combines the study of crime and criminal justice with the physical and biological sciences. This course being offered in 2024 exposes students to a holistic understanding of crime and how forensic science tackles investigations, enabling students to analyze the reasons behind criminal behavior and the effective responses to it. Course Content: The program is comprised of a balance of specific criminology and forensic science content. This includes the socio-cultural understanding of crime, criminals, and victims, taken from different perspectives such as psychological, historical, and sociological – after all, effective crime fighting and prevention is more than just science. Key Modules: Some of the key modules include ‘Criminal Justice and Penal Process’, 'Introduction to Forensic Science', ’Understanding Criminology’, ‘Criminology: Theory and Practice’, ‘Forensic Science in the Laboratory’ and 'Forensic Science in the Field'.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. Successful completion of the course could grant students Associate Membership of the British Association for Human Identification. Future Careers: Completion of this course could lead to an array of opportunities in numerous fields.
