The Creative Writing and Film Studies BA (Hons) course at the University of Hull combines the study of creative writing and film, allowing students to intensify their creativity while developing critical, analytical and research skills. It is a full-time undergraduate course offered in a traditional, on-campus learning mode.Course Content: Students can expect to gain a solid foundation in both creative writing and film studies. Alongside the exploration of many forms and genres of writing, the course covers film history, theory and practice. The course provides hands-on workshops, film screenings, discussions and lectures delivered by expert tutors. Key Modules: Some of the significant modules include: Writing, Research and Innovation, Writing Off the Page: Installation and Site writing, Story: from Page to Screen, Short Film Production, and The Hollywood Studio System. In their final year, students tackle a Project Module in either creative writing or film. Future Careers: This course equips students with skills to pursue careers in fields such as Film Studies lecturer, Screenwriter, Film director, Journalist, and Publisher.
