The BSc (Hons) Health and Exercise Science course at Manchester Metropolitan University is designed for those with a keen interest in health, fitness and exercise. This interdisciplinary program incorporates study of the biological, behavioural and social sciences, and particularly how they affect health and physical activity. Course Content: The course will provide students with a solid foundation in understanding contemporary health issues and ways to promote health and physical activity. This includes understanding its psychological aspects, the role of exercise in disease prevention and rehabilitation, and community health promotion strategies. Key Modules: Specific course units include Conceptual Foundations of Physical Activity, Exercise and Health, Research and Professional Skills, Biological and Social Determinants of Health, Public Health Nutrition, Physical Activity and Aging, and Exercise Prescription and Management. In the final year, students will also complete a research project.
