BA (Hons) Acting

The BA Acting course at Manchester Metropolitan University is a dynamic and intensive programme that provides students with the opportunity to develop a wide range of acting skills. The course allows students to engage with industry professionals and participate in a range of performance projects in venues within Manchester and beyond.Course Content: The course is comprised of practical workshops, rehearsals, and performances, complemented by lectures and seminars that provide students with a theoretical foundation in acting. Students will learn about devising and writing for performance, contemporary performance practices and traditional acting methodologies. They will also explore voice work, movement, characterisation, improvisation and text interpretation.Key Modules: The key modules include Acting Techniques, Devised Performance and Writing for Performance, The Actor and the Text, Voice, Movement, Characterisation and Improvisation, Acting for Camera, Industry Focus and Preparation for the Profession, and Acting Project.Future Careers: Upon completion of the course, students may progress into a range of careers in acting, theatre, film and television.
