BA (Hons.) Creative Writing

The Creative Writing BA course at Leeds Beckett University offers aspiring writers a supportive environment in which to enhance their writing skills and elevate it to a professional standard. This course gears students towards publishing their work and provides an introduction to the practicalities of getting published. From novels and scripts to poetry and non-fiction, students will explore a wide range of creative genres, enhancing their ability to write creatively in the process. Students will dissect the process of writing, from brainstorming and drafting, to revising and editing, and will also explore various methods of publication. Key Modules: Some of the core modules for this course include "Introduction to Scripts & Stories," "Writing for Different Platforms," "Scripts for Radio & TV," "Writing a Novel," and "Writing as a Career."Future Careers: After successful completion of the course, the students will have the opportunity to build a career in various roles related to scriptwriter, editor, author, copywriter, and teacher among others.
