The Mathematics of Sustainable Finance MSc at Heriot-Watt University is a full-time postgraduate course which innovatively combines the areas of mathematical concepts and sustainability principles. It aims to equip students with the mathematical and computational skills necessary for quantitative jobs in sustainability, finance, and associated industries.Course Content: During this course, students will gain a solid grounding in the mathematical methods used in finance, such as Random processes, Optimization, and Numerical methods. There's room for specialisation, with a focus on sustainable finance, equipping students with the quantitative skills used in green/sustainable finance jobs, understanding global, national and corporate mechanisms for achieving climate mitigation and adaptation outcomes, and understand and apply the principles of sustainability.Key Modules: The course includes core modules including, Mathematical Methods in Finance, Statistical Methods, Sustainability Theories and Practice, and a Dissertation. Elective modules such as Structured Finance, Energy Finance and Sustainable Finance are also integral parts of the course. Future Careers: Students undertaking this course will be well prepared for a career in the finance industry.
