The Pharmaceutical Bioscience course offered by Ulster University uniquely combines knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical chemistry, body function, drug action and molecular biology with practical skills used in the global biopharmaceutical industry. This full-time, on-campus course lasts for three to four years and offers a BSc(Hons) degree. Course Content: The course offers a wide range of topics, including pharmaceutical chemistry, body function, drug action, molecular biology, and practical skills. It also incorporates experiential learning opportunities such as site visits and work-based learning.Key Modules: The key modules covered in the course include Molecular Biology, Practicals, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Drug Action, and Body Function.Accreditations: Students who are successful in this programme will be eligible to apply for membership of the Royal Society of Biology and adequately choose to take the option of an industrial placement year. This is subject to the approval of the Placement Tutor and Head of School.Future Careers: Graduates of the Pharmaceutical Bioscience degree find employment in a wide range of careers including the biopharmaceutical industry, research (academic and industrial), teaching, scientific publishing, information science, environmental health and the agri-food industry.
