BSc(Hons) Human Nutrition with placement year

The Human Nutrition with Placement Year course offered by Ulster University is a four-year programme that develops a multi-disciplinary knowledge on how diet affects the health of humans. It aims to provide students with a deep understanding in nutritional science while emphasising on the role nutrition plays in maintaining good health.Course Content: This course provides the students with an opportunity to learn the principles of nutrition, physiological and biochemical processes, nutrient requirements and their impact on health, and the development of nutritional science. Alongside theoretical knowledge, practical sessions are also integrated into the course to provide students with valuable laboratory-based experience. Students also undertake a work placement in a nutrition-related environment.Key Modules: Human Nutrition includes modules such as Nutritional Biochemistry, Food and Nutrition, Applied Public Health Nutrition, Research Methods for Human Nutritionists and Dietitians, Nutrition in Health and Disease, and Applied Physiology.Accreditations: The full-time course is accredited by Association for Nutrition (AfN) and fulfils the academic requirements to register as an Associate Nutritionist under the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists.Future Careers: After graduating from the course, students have a multitude of career opportunities in places like the food industry, health services, government bodies, nutrition research, health promotion and teaching, food and health journalism, sports and fitness centres, and private consultancy.For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
