The BSc Hons Geography with Education and optional placement year at Ulster University is a unique program designed to provide students with specialized knowledge in geography and an in-depth understanding of education theory and practice. This course is ideal for students who intend to pursue a career in education, in particular teaching Geography at secondary school level. Course Content: The course is divided into three levels, each with specific learning objectives and outcomes. At Level 4, students focus on foundational geographic concepts and techniques along with Introduction to Education. At Level 5, students study more advanced geography, learning techniques for physical and human geography in addition to Studies in Education and Practice. Level 6 offers the option for a professional practice placement; alternatively, students focus on geographical research methods and a specialized study in an area of their choosing.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Applied GIS, Physical Geography, Human Geography, Geographical Techniques and Analytical Methods, Education Theory and Practice, and a final year Geography Project.
