BSc(Hons) Dietetics

The Dietetics course offered by Ulster University is a four-year program that equips students with in-depth knowledge and professional skills to become dietitians. Students will gain a strong foundation in nutrition and food science, as well as in social and clinical areas of dietetics. The curriculum combines academic teaching with supervised practical experiences in clinical and community settings.Course Content: The program has a modular structure and is delivered through lectures, tutorials, practical workshops, and online resources. It includes subjects such as Microbiology & Immunology, Human Physiology, and Psychology, among others. In the final year, students are expected to complete an independent research project relating to dietetics.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Professional Studies, Human Nutrition, Diet, Food & Society, and Clinical Dietetics. Each module is designed to provide students with essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in their future professional life.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the British Dietetic Association and the Health and Care Professions Council. Upon graduation, students will be eligible to apply for registration as a Dietitian with the HCPC.Future Careers: Graduates of this course have the necessary skills and qualifications to pursue a variety of career opportunities in the field of dietetics. These include roles within the National Health Service, as well as in education, research, sport & leisure sectors, and food industry.
