BA (Hons) Textile Art, Design and Fashion

The Textile Art, Design, and Fashion course at Ulster University is a full-time, undergraduate Honours degree programme that fosters creativity, experimentation, and innovation. The course focuses on developing practical skills, theoretical insight and creative vision in the field of textile art, design, and fashion. It prepares students to become confident and versatile professionals in the dynamic, growing, and globally competitive textile and fashion industry.Course Content: The course spans over three academic years and the content primarily includes textile art, design and fashion, with a focus on creativity, experimentation, and the effective use of materials, techniques and processes. The course also covers professional practice enabling students to develop a unique design identity through three pathways: Textile Art and Artefact; Multi-Media Textiles; and Fashion.Key Modules: Key modules include innovative design, contemporary fashion, knitwear design, textile and surface design, professional design practice, contextual studies, studio practice, and final year design projects. Accreditations: N/A Future Careers: Students graduating from this course can explore various career options including textile and fashion designer, visual merchandiser, stylist, retail management, freelance designer-maker, community artist, gallery curator or exhibition designer, or further studies at postgraduate level.
