BA (Hons) Music with Irish

The Music with Irish BSc Hons at Ulster University is a unique, full-time undergraduate course that allows students to develop their musical ability and creative skills while also immersing in the traditional Irish language and culture. With a focus on practice-oriented learning, the course offers the opportunity to participate in several musical ensembles and improve language skills both in class and via an optional year abroad.Course Content: The program incorporates core aspects of music, involved with performance, composition, improvisation, musicology, and music technology, alongside the study of written and spoken Irish. The modules in Music are taught at the Magee campus and those in Irish, at the Belfast campus.Key Modules: Key modules for the program include Elements of Music, Music in Ireland, Composition, Music Technology, Performance, Irish Language, Literature in Irish, Irish Folklore, and others. Future Careers: The diverse skills and knowledge that students develop throughout the course can lead to various career paths.
