The Journalism with English course at Ulster University opens up a unique blend of a practical understanding of Journalism and deep literary awareness of English literature. The course enables students to hone vital journalistic skills and also develop a creative and critical thinking approach towards literature.Course Content: The course content is divided into six levels which include skills for journalists, newswriting, subediting and design, specialist journalism, magazine journalism and placement. It also integrates study modules such as Literature in Context, Interpretive Strategies: Literary Criticisms, and many other English related modules.Key Modules: The key modules are designed to provide a practical understanding in Journalism and critical perspective on literature. They are - Skills for Journalists, Newswriting, Sub-editing and Design, Specialist Journalism and Magazine Journalism. Alongside these, you will study literary modules like Heroic Poem, Understanding the Novel, Literature in Context and more.Accreditations: The course has received an accreditation from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) and National Council for the Training of Journalist (NCTJ).
