The Drama with Irish program at Ulster University is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree course which looks at drama in a bilingual context. The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to fully engage with both the theoretical and practical aspects of drama, as well as the language, literature and culture of Irish.Course Content: The course offers a variety of modules that allow students to explore drama through critical analytical study, scriptwriting, performing, directing, and designing. Students also have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Irish language, literature, and culture through focused study and immersion in Gaeltacht communities.Key Modules: The key modules include 'Drama: Page to Stage', 'Introduction to Acting and Directing', 'The Contemporary Irish Language', 'Scriptwriting', 'Irish Language Drama', 'Contemporary Irish Theatre' and 'Shakespeare & Early Modern Drama'. Future Careers: After completing the course, students can choose a career within performing arts and theatre industries as performers, directors, designers, writers, managers or technicians. Other career options include teaching, media, translation, and working with community arts organizations.
