BA (Hons) Drama with Education

The Drama with Education course at Ulster University is a unique degree that combines the study of Drama with the study of Education. The programme encourages students to think critically about the nature of drama, its role in society and the ways in which it can be used in teaching and learning contexts.Course Content: The course content reflects the nature of drama both as an academic discipline and a practical activity. Students will explore the theory and history of drama, learn about the craft of performance, and study the use of drama in educational contexts. This is done through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops and practical classes.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Contemporary Performance Practice, Drama and English Education, Theories of Drama, and Performance Design & Technologies. The placement module gives students a chance to gain practical experience in a workplace setting, applying their skills and knowledge in a real-world context.Future Careers: Graduates of this course are well prepared for a wide range of careers. Many go on to work in teaching, either as drama specialists or as general classroom teachers. Others enter the theatre industry, or work in community and youth work.
