MA Choreography

The Choreography MA at De Montfort University (DMU) is a postgraduate programme designed for emerging choreographers who want to refine their artistic practice. The course invites students to enter a professional setting where they are encouraged to take creative risks, explore the boundaries of making performance and take the public stage as creative artist in their own right.Course Content: This course offers specialist and transferable skills in the creation of choreographic material, the development of performance skills for professional environments, acquiring technical skills (supporting performance and choreography), developing research skills (essential for progression to PhD). This degree is of particular interest to those students who wish to pursue producing works and spectacles situated within contemporary choreographic performance, but also locating their work within the wider field of creative arts.Key Modules: The Choreography MA consists of modules such as CH7004 Choreographic Project, CH7001 Choreographic Process, and CH7003 Dissertation in Choreography. Other modules include Artistic Development and Professional Placement, adding a practical aspect to the theoretical knowledge gained.
