BSc (Hons) Product Design

Product Design BSc (Hons) is a full-time undergraduate course offered by De Montfort University. The course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop and design innovative products according to the needs and demands of the market. The course takes three years to complete and provides the students with multiple opportunities for internships and professional work placements.Course Content: This course combines the principles of aesthetics, technological practices, and marketing strategies to train students in the process of product development. Students are taught to generate original ideas, use CAD software, and utilize prototyping skills. In addition to this, students also learn how to analyze market trends and consumer demands.Key Modules: Core modules include Professional and Academic Development, Design and Market Influences, Design Studio 1 and 2, Design Communication, CAD and Digital Modelling, Manufacturing and Materials, and Major Project leading to a showcase of your designs.Accreditations: The Product Design course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED), thereby providing students with a nationally recognized qualification.Future Careers: After completion of this course, students can pursue a variety of careers related to product design.
